Firm Continues Excellent Trial Results With Eleventh Consecutive Favorable Verdict

On March 8, 2018, Giometti & Mereness P.C. (the “Firm”) achieved its eleventh consecutive favorable verdict at trial, extending back to July of 2014.  This continues the Firm’s superb trial results.  Since the Firm was founded in 2006, the Firm’s attorneys have conducted 40 trials, of which 36 were jury trials and four were bench trials.  Of these, six were tried in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, 33 were tried in Colorado state district courts, and one was tried in district court in Idaho.  Of the 36 jury trials, the jury reached a verdict in 34 cases; in the remaining two cases, the jury could not reach a verdict in one case (hung jury), and in the other the case settled just before the jury reached a verdict.  Out of the 38 cases in which the jury or court rendered a verdict or decision, the Firm achieved a favorable verdict in 29 out of the 38 cases.  In 4 of the cases, the verdict or decision was mixed, i.e., the result was favorable in part.  In only 5 out of the 38 cases was the verdict unfavorable; however, in two of these, the court either granted a new trial or reversed on appeal, erasing the unfavorable verdict.  The following is a table showing the types of cases the Firm took to trial and the trial results, where a decision was reached.  For a complete history of the Firm’s trial results, please see the Summary of Jury Verdicts.
